RIBEX 2008 - Sunshine & Roses!
For those who recall last year's show and endured the wet and wind this was a very welcome reprise. This unique three day event enjoyed the hottest days of the year which saw a record number of visitors out on the water.

Once again sponsored by Suzuki Marine, the event’s 5th year hosted on the I.O.W was notable for having almost 70 inflatable craft on the water along with the world launches of several new craft including:

• The Scorpion Sting
• The Redbay 11m Fly-bridge RIB
• The 10m Stinger from Italy
• The Ilmore-engined Artic Blue 29

All these craft and many more were on the water and ready for sea trials. The show also exhibited an array of ribs dedicated wholly to the starter/entry level market.

These were ready to go, ‘turn-key’ packages presented by the manufacturers as being representative of their best entry-level models.

With great weather, hog and lamb roasts, a new hospitality marquee, exhibitor prizes and giveaways galore, not to mention the unique ability to properly sea trial literally dozens of RIBs ‘back to back’, the Cowes based show was a great weekend for everyone who loves RIBs.

The tented village hosted several stands showing the different types of power units available for these fast powerboats from the stables of Suzuki, Evinrude and Yamaha. Supporting products of marine radios, waterproof audio systems, helmets and more were also shoreside.
