Suzuki Marine raised the bar for 4-stroke outboard power and performance once again, unveiling to assembled marine press and boating enthusiasts, at the 2006 Miami International Boat Show, the industry's first 300 horsepower V6 4-stroke motor. Larry Vandiver, Suzuki US Marine Marketing Director said, "This should leave no doubt about Suzuki's commitment to push the boundary of 4-stroke outboard power and performance".

The new DF300 is the most powerful outboard Suzuki has ever offered and will be available in 25" and 30" shaft configurations and with available counter rotation, which makes the DF300 perfect for performance - orientated RIBs. The new large displacement engine is based on a narrow 55-degree block and uses Suzuki's proven offset driveshaft for a compact overall size that fits and balances better on the transom in single, double or triple installations.

In-line with Suzuki's other popular and successful V6 models the DF300 comes with a Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC) powerhead, 4-valves per cylinder and features Suzuki's Variable Valve Timing (VVT).

In addition to this, the new DF300 motor includes a new multi-point electronic fuel injection, durable, gear-driven timing chain and conforms to an Ultra Low Emissions 3-Star rating from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Euro 1 Emissions Standards

(EU Directive 2003/44/EC), which was effective from January 2006.

Suzuki's new 300 horsepower 4-stroke also boasts several firsts for the company, including a newly designed, more aggressive lower unit to improve performance and top speed.

While this new lower unit is sleek and hydrodynamic, it still uses the proven, two-stage gear reduction with the ability to swing larger, higher-pitch props for the ideal combination of acceleration and top-end speed.

The new DF300 is also Suzuki's first outboard to feature an advanced electronic throttle/shift control developed to provide easier rigging, improved safety and easier vessel operation. This sophisticated new feature provides many performance advantages over traditional cable-driven systems, including smoother, decisive shifting and quicker throttle response.

The DF300 will be available to buy in Europe early 2007.
